Taking Place
Synopsis
There are a lot of families of Romanian descent that look for a place to live in the suburban area of Paris, a town named Seine-Saint-Denis. This suburban area is associated with slum area issues. An eviction of the neighborhood then creates a well-tied bond between the residents. This movie depicts the solidarity spirit in refusing the eviction process.

Jérémy Gravayat
Jeremy Gravayat is a filmmaker born in 1981 in the suburbs of Paris. Since 2000, he has been making films about the living conditions of exiled communities. His approach combines field work with archival research, narrative storytelling and activist engagement. He is noted for the projects he realized in Calais, Palestine and the suburbs of Lyon, Marseille and Paris. The films are characterised by a focus on human use of territory, a multiplicity of viewpoints and of formats, from film to digital. He is a member of The Abominable, a filmmaker co-lab, base at La Corneuve, in Seine-Saint-Denis.
