Synopsis

In Lamalera, disappointment does not last long because something that happens that does not go according to plan will always be interpreted as “Tite Pi Reme Ki”, which means “there is always tomorrow.” Lamalera is a small village in the south of Lembata Island, East Nusa Tenggara, which has a cultural connection to the sea (lefa) and spirituality, such as Ina Lefa, who is regarded as the mother who gives and sustains life. The lefa culture reflects the Lamalera community’s efforts to maintain balance between humans, nature, ancestors, religion, and fellow humans.
