Wide Water Floating Bodies

Synopsis

Moelyono is known for his works that give voice to the marginalized. His praxis in Brumbun, Tulungagung became the foundation of his socially conscious art movement, which spread to various regions across Indonesia, especially in post-conflict areas. Far from the bustle of Jakarta’s art centers, Moelyono chose to remain in Tulungagung, close to the community that inspires his work. With bold brushstrokes and uncompromising honesty, his paintings stand as both testimony and protest—a reminder that art is not merely about beauty, but also a means of survival and resistance.
