Nasida Ria: Sun Stage

Synopsis
1975 in a female dormitory in Semarang, (the late) H. Muhammad Zain and 9 female santri practicing musical instruments to preach in a group named Nasida Ria. Magically, Nasida Ria officially became an international qasidah group in 1980. Today, through the way of thinking, behaving, and responding to the shift of the digital era, Nasida Ria is carried out by Choliq Zain as manager. Having experienced upheaval with record labels and personnel moving between groups, Choliq resolved everything with patience for almost 3 years. Rather than wanting to inspire the mainstream music world through qasidah, Nasida Ria chooses to preach through music and aspire to be part of the Archipelago.

Wisnu Candra
Wisnu Candra grew up doing baking, soccer, illegal motorcycle racing, underground local music, and being a metal factory worker. His upbringing helped Wisnu to craft his films using observational and constructivist methods. For Wisnu, films are a circus and loneliness, that’s why at the end of his films, he gives the slogan You’ll Never Watch Alone.
