Synopsis
The 1,000 km Great Post Road was built under the Dutch colonialist Daendels and cost the lives of thousands of Indonesian forced labourers. Pramoedya Ananta Toer, one of the most important Indonesian authors in recent decades, wrote an essay on the Great Post Road from an Indonesian perspective at director Bernie IJdis’ request.
