A network of images from Victor, Toraja-based videographer, video archive combine to paint a journal-like portrait of the community and his personal life of constant sorrow and happiness.

Wahyu Al Mardhani
Wahyu is a highly imaginative filmmaker with over 7 years of experience in film and video making through a variety of forms. As co-founder of the young Makassar-based filmmaking collective, 180 Dalam Kota, Wahyu explores the city’s issues through documentary. Wahyu co-founded the cross-cultural and collaborative exchange project Sipakatuo, functioning between South Sulawesi and Australia. Wahyu is motivated by this important cultural investment to be a part of this project.

Chris Cochrane Friedrich
Chris is a Melbourne-based filmmaker and co-founder of film collective, Dogmilk. His primary interest is in the space between documentary and experimental filmmaking. Chris is an experienced cinematographer and editor, having worked on many narrative and documentary films both short and feature length. He co-founded the cross-cultural and collaborative exchange project Sipakatuo, functioning between South Sulawesi and Australia. Engagement on a human scale and the relationships that grow from it are integral to Chris’ motivation and method.
