Teka-teki Sinema

Teka-teki Sinema is a film programming workshop designed to introduce and further explore curatorial practices and audiovisual exhibitions. The program provides participants with the tools and skills to craft film programs that are responsive to diverse social and cultural contexts, as well as regional developments in cinema across Southeast Asia.

Through a series of online and in-person sessions, consultations, field studies, and project presentations, participants are encouraged to learn about film programming as a practice of engaging audiovisual works, spaces, and audiences. Together with mentors and practicing professionals, participants explore the history of cinema, curatorial practices, readings of local and regional contexts, and how cultural infrastructure shapes viewing experiences and exhibition practices.

Teka-teki Sinema stems from the Forum Film Dokumenter’s observation of the limited learning opportunities for film programmers in Indonesia. Through this program, Forum Film Dokumenter aims to nurture film programmers capable of building a dialogue between cinema and the public. The first edition of the Teka-teki Sinema workshop featured mentorship from Eric Sasono, Chalida Uabumrungjit, Gayatri Nadya, Yuki Aditya, dan Ekky Imanjaya.
