The Coffeemaker

Ariani Djalal got her bachelor degree from the Faculty of Philosophy Gadjah Mada University. In 2007, she graduated from SBM-BBC (School Broadcast Media-British Broadcast Corporation) Jakarta. After the economic crisis and reformation in 1998, she has worked as a freelance journalist. She has also produced, written, and directed documentary and news features for television. In 2003, she produced Aceh Never-Ending Tragedy by Bade Tan Reuda that was screened at the Jakarta IFF 2003 and won The Best Documentary at the same festival the next year. In 2007, she produced a Video Community Workshop “Women And Syariah Law”. She also wrote a book, photo essay “Disappearances People”. Later in 2007 she published a comic book “Video Kampung” about community video production.
