Object 817

Synopsis
Inhabitants of an isolated village in the Urals talk about the USSR’s first nuclear accident. It happened there in 1957 but was concealed because a nearby nuclear plant was producing atomic weapons. So the villagers, living on radioactive land, became prisoners of government secrets. The collective silence created many fantasies, such as a mutated human fetus that became a legend about an alien.
