Invisible Hopes

At Pondok Bambu Jakarta Detention Center, three newborn babies live with their mothers and twelve other pregnant inmates jostled in a small cell room. There is no special treatment nor special residence for them, they are being treated the same as inmates and become invisible victims among the struggle of their mother in order to survive behind bars by all means.

Meanwhile at Pondok Bambu Jakarta Prison, lives twelve children. Four of them have to leave prison soon without their mother who has to serve the remainder of their sentence. They have to leave prison because their age is two years old, where according to the law, two years old is the maximum age a child can live in prison with their mother. The problem is their family outside prison are not willing to take care of them, while others are not able to.
