This slot invites the audience to return into a glimpse of the long history of Taiwanese society through the medium of short documentaries. From the restoration that presents the faces of young Taiwanese artists in the 90s in The Mountain (1966) and Modern Poetry Exhibition/1966 (1966). Up to the efforts to present past creation through Experiment 002 (Extracted from Video Documentation of the Symposium of “Theatre Quarterly”) (1994) and  The Prophet (2016).

One of the films in the program “Human, Frame by Frame”. 26 minutes questioning the first 19 days of immigrant family life in Canada. This slot will also be followed by a discussion session to dig deeper into the questions that appear in this film, regarding the substance of home. Especially inbetween the atmosphere of refugee crisis due to political-militaryl conflict in various parts of the world.

SPEKTRUM SCREENING & DISCUSSION – NICHOLAS BOONE | IFI-LIP AUDITORIUM

Nicolas Boone comes with a project, Etage 39 (2017), which tries to answer the question of how someone interprets a spatial experience. Or, how they express their preferences towards it. While in Hillbrow (2014), Boone is again exploring space as an idea, through 10 travelling stories in one space that are constantly changing, becoming infinite. Screening will be followed by a discussion session with Nicolas Boone.

You can enjoy this installation from Thursday, December 6th to Tuesday, December 11th in Epson Room, TBY at 14.00-17.30 WIB and 18.30-21.00 WIB. Waterland (2018) is a part of DocSound program that presents sound and its position towards everyday life through film as the medium. Films choices in this program treat sound elements as their main strength and opens up new perspectives in approaching the relationship between film, sound, and our daily lives.

4 short VR documentaries, ready to be enjoyed in this slot from Thursday, December 6th to Tuesday, December 11th at TBY Gallery Room at 1pm to 4pm and 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Gaza’s Amputee Football Team, Cuba’s Blind Baseball, Living with Disability, dan The Curse of Palm Oil, are parts of The Feelings of Reality, here to expand the influence of films that voice disability issues by playing them both via documentary and VR-based documentaries ( Virtual Reality).
