The growth of the film industry led to the rise of film screening venues such as movie theaters, film festivals, and alternative community-based screening spaces, as well as other artistic activities. These venues ultimately serve not only to screen films but also to generate knowledge through the critical practice of curating film selections that are deemed representative of the venues’ distinct character.
This year, Forum Film Dokumenter, in collaboration with Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja (PSBK), is presenting Ramu Layar Film Programming Class. This intensive course aims to develop competencies and expand knowledge and access within the field of film programming. The series of lectures will be led by Alexander Matius, Alia Damaihati, Eric Sasono, John Badalu, Thomas Barker, Agus Mediarta, Lisabona Rahman, and Joned Suryatmoko.
