Aimed at introducing participants to the foundations of film programming, Teka-teki Sinema Film Programming Workshop invites emerging film programmers from Southeast Asia to explore ideas around film programming and audiovisual exhibition. Participants will take part in a series of online and in-person sessions, consultations, field studies, and collaborative presentations, guided by mentors and speakers who are active practitioners in the field. This workshop also gives participants the opportunity to develop their own film programs in their home country and at Festival Film Dokumenter.
Who can apply?
Registration is open for individuals from Southeast Asian countries who are interested in film and alternative screening spaces. Applicants must be 21 years old or older and hold citizenship from one of the following countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, plus the addition of Timor-Leste.

Eligibility and Guidelines
- Applications are open to anyone interested in films and alternative screening spaces.
- Applications are open to individuals who hold Southeast Asian countries citizenship. Countries included: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, plus the addition of Timor Leste.
- Participants must be equal to or older than 21 years old.
- The workshop is conducted in English. English proficiency is a must. The organizer will not provide language interpreters during the workshop.
- Selected participants are required to pay a workshop fee of IDR 2,000,000 (USD 125/EUR 110) (tax included) that covers accommodation and meals during the event, workshop kit, certificate, and workshop materials. Travel expenses to and from Yogyakarta, Indonesia are not included in the fee. All flights and local transport will be at participants’ own expense.
- All fees that have been paid are non-refundable for any purpose.
- By becoming a workshop participant, you will gain accredited access to all Festival Film Dokumenter 2025 screenings, discussions, and networking programs.
- Selected participants must be committed to attending the entire workshop until the end and agree to sign an integrity agreement.
- Selected participants are not allowed to assign their participatory status to another individual.
- The deliberation of selected participants is final. The organizer has no obligation to provide information to the applicant regarding the details of the applicant’s selection status.
Teka-teki Sinema Film Programming Workshop is presented by Forum Film Dokumenter with the support of the Ministry of Culture Republik Indonesia through Dana Indonesiana and LPDP, in collaboration with Thai Film Archive, Institut Français Indonésie, KDM Cinema, and Mini Film Festival Malaysia.
