Synopsis

Lusi is an acronym for Lumpur Sidoarjo (Sidoarjo Mud) that has been erupting endlessly. Starting in 2006, the drilling site of PT Lapindo Brantas left a torrent of hot mud. The mud continued to erupt until 2017, submerging 16 villages in 3 sub-districts. In this tragedy, the local residents did not stay still. They could not stop the mudflow, but that did not mean they were helpless. From the lusi phenomenon, they became motorcycle taxi drivers for tourists to safely visit the mudflow point.

Winner Wijaya
Winner Wijaya is an Indonesian filmmaker. They have liked making films since the fifth grade of elementary school because they were taught by their school teacher. Every weekend, together with their friends, they made movies with a MiniDV camcorder. They tried fun new things, painted the house walls green for chroma keying, wore ghost masks, made weird stories, and so on. Their short documentary, Ojek Lusi, was nominated for Piala Citra and won the Best Short Documentary Award in FFD 2017. In 2020, they won Minikino Best Begadang Filmmaking Competition for their film Hey Guys Balik Lagi Sama Gue, Tuhan! and were nominated for best short fiction film at Festival Film Indonesia 2020. At the moment, they are in the editing process for their first feature documentary.

Antonius Wilson
Antonius Willson is a film producer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. He fell in love with films after watching E.T. for the first time when he was 7. Since then, he started making videos for fun and studied photography before finally studying cinematography at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. He has produced several short movies which won several awards in Indonesia. Besides filmmaking, Willson also works as a director and producer for several brands and esports events in Indonesia such as ESL, Gopay, Tencent (PUBG), Moonton (Mobile Legends), and more. He is now a caster for esports events.
