Mama Lihat Awan Jatuh

Synopsis

Mama Laurensia Yame, an Awyu woman, walks along the Digul River while recollecting her past life that was turned upside down by the palm oil giant. On the riverbank, children run and play in an innocent living space in the future of Papua’s remaining forests. When the company comes to displace the land they have lived on for thousands of years even from their ancestors, Mama’s song Mama Lihat Awan Jatuh (Watch the Clouds Fall) is heard faintly, “We humans don’t know where to go”.
