Into The Movement
Synopsis
The story is about Art Lab, a social centre in Parma. A group of students occupy a building belonging to the University and abandoned for 20 years. Protected by those walls, changing the world together seems possible again. In 7 years of occupation, these young people set up many projects: an Italian school for foreigners, a free bike repair shop, an anti-racist football team, and several cultural events. Art Lab is a project of radical change of society along the fine line between legality and justice. This involves personal risks too: they violently clash with institutions, private companies, politicians, and the police. Can these youngsters still change the world?

Lorenzo Melegari
Lorenzo Melegari was born in 1974 in Parma, Italy. Degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Bologna, he took courses in musical composition at the Boito Conservatory of Parma and then filmaking at the Civica school in Milan. He works on several projects: musical videoclips, institutional videos, documentaries. Into the Movement’ is his first feature documentary.
