In the Heat of the Fire

Synopsis
The fire burns for many hours a day under the huge roof of this foundry in South Dagon in Myanmar’s former capital of Yangon. Two of these workers are 43-year-old U Naing Win and 26-year-old Kyaw Gyi. As they toil away, they keep a tight lid on their private lives, but in conversation their feelings come flooding out.

Yadanar Oo, born in Yangon, graduated in computer arts and business administration. After working in PR for media and marketing, she realized her true passion was filmmaking and decided to quit her job to apply to Yangon Film School. In the Heat of Fire (2023) is her first film as a director.
