FFD 2026

Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) invites documentary filmmakers from Indonesia and around the world to submit their films for the 2026 edition of the Festival. FFD welcomes documentary works of various forms and cinematic approaches, reflecting the diversity of contemporary documentary practice. Selected films will become part of the Festival’s program and be presented to audiences through curated screenings and discussions. The upcoming 25th edition of FFD will be held on November 20–27, 2026, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Starting this year, all film submissions to FFD will be conducted through FilmFreeway. This transition is part of FFD’s effort to streamline the submission process and to connect more efficiently with filmmakers across different regions. The Festival also introduces a submission fee for film entries. The fee contributes to supporting the Festival’s submission management and programming processes, as well as the continued development of FFD as a platform dedicated to documentary cinema. At the same time, FFD remains committed to supporting Indonesian filmmakers. Submission fee waivers are available for Indonesian filmmakers submitting to the following categories: Indonesia Feature-Length Competition, Short Competition, Student Competition, and Noncompetition (Lanskap).
