Synopsis
The Pasha, my mother and I is the director’s personal journey revisiting her complicated Kurdish family history with the help of her mother, Pervine. This mother-daughter confrontation focuses on the question of transmission: What heritage do we carry? How can we free ourselves from this heritage while giving meaning to our roots?

Nevine Gerits
Nevine Gerits is a documentary filmmaker based in Brussels. She was a writing residency at the Ardèche Images documentary school in 2017 as well as a cinematographer for the 2019 film Cold Case Hammarskjold. The Pasha, my mother and I is her debut feature documentary.
