Program Description

DOC Talk is an attempt to bring together various discussions about documentary as one of the languages of cinema. This program also tries to create a dynamic discussion space on a range of specific issues related to documentary’s progression, not only in terms of expression, artistic practice, and form, but also as a critique through varying perspectives. This is an effort to navigate documentary films and various other art intersections by presenting filmmakers, academics, educators, critics, artists, and cinema enthusiasts, through their involvement in this program to explore other dimensions in the definition of documentary as an art medium and the language of cinema itself. Furthermore, this program tries to encourage innovation in the way we produce knowledge and its supporting variables to enrich our understanding of today’s cinema practices.
