Indonesian Feature-length Documentary Competition has come to its conclusion of Wednesday (Dec 4). Three jury members watched the three nominees of Indonesian Feature-length Documentary: Amelia Hapsari (filmmaker and program director of In-Docs), Shin Eun-shil (festival programmer and film critic from South Korea), and Lau Kek-Huat (Malaysian filmmaker).<\/span><\/p>\n

The judging began in Bioskop Sonobudoyo firstly by watching <\/span>Tonotwiyat<\/span><\/i><\/a> (Yulika Anastasia Indrawati, 2019), <\/span>Om Pius, \u201cIni rumah saya, come the sleeping\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/a> (Halaman Papua, 2019), and <\/span>240BPM++<\/span><\/i><\/a> (Bagas Oktariyan Ananta, 2019) from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. After that, they conducted a ruling session in Mediterania Resto to discuss further the three films watched.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the jury members, Amelia Hapsari, commented that the three nominees could take the audience into the lives of the marginalized people and be the hero or protagonist of their daily lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

At first, Amelia thought it would be very difficult to pick one best winner. “I thought it would be challenging at first. Which one would it be, I wondered. However, after seeing the movies for the second time, it got easier. The jury discussion was very decisive, meaning that there wasn’t any significant difference in opinion to then select the winner,” she said in Mediterania Resto.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indonesian Feature-length Documentary Competition is one of four competition programs of this year’s FFD. This competition program is dedicated to present films that capture and criticez actual issues around us.<\/span><\/p>\n

The three nominees of Indonesian Feature-length Documentary are screened for public for free throughout the course of Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) 2019. <\/span>Om Pius, \u201cIni rumah saya, come the sleeping\u201d<\/span><\/i> (2019) and <\/span>240BPM++<\/span><\/i> (2019) are screend on Thursday, December 5th, 2019 in Societet Militair and Amphitheatre Taman Budaya Yogyakarta respectively. <\/span>Tonotwiyat<\/span><\/i> (2019) will be screend on Friday, December 6th, 2019 at Societet Militair Taman Budaya Yogyakarta.<\/span><\/p>\n

The result of this competition be announced on the closing night of FFD, on December 7th, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
