Ferrero presented a story of a couple living in capitalistic dream. A house to shelter, various devices to satisfy consumerism desire, and pseudo-hospitality in urban life.<\/p>\n

One of the movies from the program \u201cDocSound\u201d that was specially made as a tribute to Canadian electronic music composer, Martin Bartlett. This sixth Fowler work invited the audience to explore the figure of Bartlett. The narrative style chosen was different among previous documentaries. This time, Fowler put visual aspect as the main element in narrating the plot.<\/p>\n

This movie is a collage of ancient and contemporary materials: documentary and fabricated photos, press reports, public service advertisements, marketing promos, and speech quotes that were served visual and sound elements.<\/p>\n

Carrying the topic of family, the program \u201cPolish Docs<\/a>\u201d will present short animated movies. A Documentary Film <\/em>(2013)<\/a> is a 6 minutes movie by Marcin Podelec that tries to capture the life of a father who lived far away from his child. The Son<\/em> (1970)<\/a> is one of the very first Polish animated documentaries of a family as the main protagonist: an urban-living child returned to the countryside to visit his parents. Gibbon\u2019s Island<\/em> (2016)<\/a> showed how a visit to the zoo could be an opportunity to observe the relation between two, closely related, humans.<\/p>\n

In this era, people are living as if a robot, humans are acting like a machine. Is this a tragedy or the beginning of a brave new world?<\/p>\n

Five works from the category student will be screened on 6.30 to 7.29 p.m. at Societet TBY. Among them is Aku Bukan Toraja <\/em>(2017)<\/a> which saw how traditional rituals in Toraja became gambling spaces. Sum <\/em>(2018)<\/a> told the story of Sum, a former Barisan Tani<\/em> activist who had been imprisoned for 13 years. Mudik <\/em>(2018)<\/a> is a visualization of a returning home trip of a family by a truck. Rantai Emas <\/em>(2018)<\/a> told the story of Mbah Romo, an elderly who lived alone in Kedunggaleng. And Tarian Kehidupan<\/em> (2018)<\/a> narrate the story of a junior high school student who had to dance for financial purposes.

COMPETITION – REMAPPING THE ORIGINS<\/a> | IFI-LIP<\/p>\n

A cinematic essay of Bialystok City which associates the present city with its past events through history and memory reflections. The explorations of trace that have the potential to be an example not just as a city, but for Europe and the future.<\/p>\n

Saturated with many surreal fiction elements, this documentary brought us to the shimmering ghost town to visit its last residents\u2014resorts employees who was in a hurry dreaming between hotel rooms.<\/p>\n

The selected movies in this program treat the element of sound as the main strength to open new perspective in approaching the relation between movies, sounds, and our daily life.<\/p>\n
