Previously, in 2023, they travelled with their grandparents to Mari\u00ebnburg in Suriname, where their grandfather, Iksan, worked on the sugar plantations and raised a family of 3 children with grandmother Watinie. They follow the trail in Suriname where their Javanese great-grandparents were displaced from their homeland of Java under false pretences to work as contract labourers.
