Beside that, because of ability of having a camera is becoming easy, in one documentary they can use 3-4 cameras at once. This is bringing out a very complex orientation. The direction of the film is becoming unclear. We are suddenly misplaced,” said the director of Istirahatlah Kata-Kata—which had recently won Golden Hanoman in Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) last week.
Not only Anggi, the other 2 juries were also had the same opinion. “There is still a film that lifting a theme based on stereotype, even strengthen it and also camera work which still having basic mistakes. I’m hoping more than that,” said Erik Sasono.
Responded on Festival Film Dokumenter which is trying to open an opportunity for international film to take participation in Long Documentary category this year, The Man that is also officiating secretary of InDocs Board of Directord secretary was hoping that no need for Short Documentary category to be changed like that. “In my opinion, the purpose have to be different. Short Documentary competition more suitable to nurture new talents. So, this competition have to be maintained in national scale and being the benchmark for indonesian documentari development,” said Erik Sasono ended the discussion. [Anas AH / Ellyta Rahmayandi]
