ABOUT FORUM As organization who runs since 2002, Forum Film Dokumenter (FFD) serve its purpose to expand documentary as a medium of expression and knowledge ecosystem through exhibition, education, and archiving program.
For the past 17 years, the Competition program has become the core of Festival Film Dokumenter. This platform aims to present the various films that try to capture the actual issues around them and put on critical perspective to it. A documentary should allow the creative freedom to present its issue in a creative ways of storytelling. This program will invite us to enjoy a well-tailored critical ideas in three categories.
This year we received 118 submissions for International Feature-length Documentary category, 100 films for Indonesian Short Documentary category, and 23 films for Indonesian Students Documentary.
We will have three main awards for the Best Documentary Film from each category. The awarding ceremony will be on 12th December at the festival’s closing ceremony.
Mandy started working as a publicist, then as a line producer and producer, before she decided to start Tanakhir Films in 2013. With her current production company she has produced feature films, both documentaries and fiction, music videos and commercials. She now has more than 10 films under her belt.
Aryo Danusiri is video artist and anthropologist born in Jakarta in 1973. At present, he is completing his Ph.D. in Social Anthropology program, with a secondary field in Critical Media Practice at Harvard University. He has been a fellow at Sensory Ethnography Lab (SEL) as well as Film Study Center at Harvard.
Fan WU is the Programmer of TIDF (Taiwan International Documentary Festival.) Prior to that she was the Director of CCDF (CNEX Chinese Doc Forum), a producer of CNEX Studio, and the Festival Director of CNEX Documentary Film Festival. She is also a part-time lecture of Dept. of Film Making, Taipei National University of the Arts. She has published two books, Film Producer and Film Festival.
