Sound in Everyday Life

  • 4 films

Sound is often put as background in the film, that puts the existence of sound as umpteenth subject, after image and other elements in the film. In daily life, sound has wider functions than that. Sound or voice is often attached to social, cultural and political context. Soundscape itself has differences and characters according to where it comes from. Its distinctive character can also be attached to personal and collective memories.

This program is intended to present the position of the sound in daily life through the medium of film. The selected films present treat the sound element as the main character and open new perspective in approaching the relationship between film, sound and our daily life.
